About Us

Meet Our Director

Benjamin Smith; Executive Director /CEO of D.R.E.A.M. Studios Inc., is an actor, writer and director who received his BS from Florida A&M University where he majored in Business Administration, Economics and minored in Theater.

He produced and directed numerous plays and spearheaded several fundraisers all while maintaining a fully licensed performing arts after-school program.

He is an event planner and grant writer, who in his free time freelances and consults in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Texas. He is The Past President and the current Treasurer of The Springfield Cultural Council.

Benjamin is a proud active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc, where he served as Polemarch (president) and was key to the resurrection of the chapter. He also served as the Chapter Advisor of the undergraduate chapters and mentor to The Kappa League, the high school leadership and development program affiliate of the fraternity.

Currently, at D.R.E.A.M. Studios, he mentors over 50 students as he steers them in the direction of higher education and to be outstanding citizens in the community. Through D.R.E.A.M. Studios, Smith has sent several students to national colleges and universities to major in the performing arts. Some students have even received full scholarships. Benjamin, along with his staff has launched numerous careers in the arts including over seven years of Lion King performers and is affiliated with a team that is producing upcoming Broadway Productions.

He continues serving the youth with over 20 years of mentoring Greater Springfield youths through the performing arts and academics with excellence.

Since 2020, Benjamin attends Harvard University where he is working on his Masters of Arts in Dramatic Studies. He would like to eventually obtain a PHD In Art Therapy.
